NIS mission

NIS has the mission to meet the information needs of all categories of users of statistical data and information by collecting, producing and disseminating data in accordance with the Law on the Organization and Functioning of Official Statistics in Romania. (EC) No 226/2009, Regulation (EC) No. No 223/2009 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 11 March 2009 on European Statistics and the European Statistics Code of Practice necessary for substantiating decisions on economic and social development of the country and for the knowledge and information of public opinion on the realities of Romanian society.

NIS vision

NIS, as the main producer of official statistical data, responsible for the coordination of all activities at national level regarding the development, development and dissemination of European statistics, is oriented towards achieving in a near future some functional methodological and technical performances recognized on domestic and international plan, at a level comparable to the performances of the most advanced national statistical institutes in the EU Member States.

The publication presents, on a monthly basis, the evolution of inflation rate, the consumer price index per total, food goods, non-food goods and services, harmonised indices of consumer prices by group of goods and services according to COICOP classification; industrial production price indices per total, the domestic market and the external market by activity (division) of CANE Rev. 2 and by broad industrial group; industrial production price indices per total (domestic and external market) by activity (class) of CANE Rev. 2; price indices of the main agricultural products, the average prices and the price indices of products sold on agri-food markets in the county residence municipalities, construction cost indices by category of objects and structural elements; residential property price indices; production price indices for services.

ERRATUM

In the Statistical Price Bulletin no. 4/2024 at table no. 15B (Cost indices in construction on significant cost elements for the application of the provisions of Chapter VI of O.U.G. no. 64/2022 regarding the adjustment of prices and general values within projects financed from non-reimbursable external funds, with subsequent amendments and additions) data from the level of 2024 for the elements: Electricity and Electricity and Gas (March) will be corrected as follows:
