NIS mission

NIS has the mission to meet the information needs of all categories of users of statistical data and information by collecting, producing and disseminating data in accordance with the Law on the Organization and Functioning of Official Statistics in Romania. (EC) No 226/2009, Regulation (EC) No. No 223/2009 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 11 March 2009 on European Statistics and the European Statistics Code of Practice necessary for substantiating decisions on economic and social development of the country and for the knowledge and information of public opinion on the realities of Romanian society.

NIS vision

NIS, as the main producer of official statistical data, responsible for the coordination of all activities at national level regarding the development, development and dissemination of European statistics, is oriented towards achieving in a near future some functional methodological and technical performances recognized on domestic and international plan, at a level comparable to the performances of the most advanced national statistical institutes in the EU Member States.

Re-use of ESS statistics  - Conditions for re-use of NSI Romania statistical information

 

The National Statistics Institute of Romania (NSI), is publishing the results of all the statistical surveys carried out through the website www.insse.ro and its annual the editorial plan. Data contained herein comes, besides NSI’s surveys, from other institutions of the National Statistical System (NSS).

The copyright of information is stated on the web pages of the NSI’s website and on the cover of each statistical publication.

NSI Romania can allow the re-use of information produced by itself under the general conditions stipulated by the Law no.109/2007 and the following conditions:

  • the scope of the request for re-use is for creating new information products and services, other than the existing ones
  • the Source of information has to be very precise quoted, with reference to the title of the survey and to the year of the datasets:

         - NIS Romania, www.insse.ro and the link to the online databases: Tempo-online and CPI

         - NIS Romania, the Title of publication, edition xxxx, year xxxx and the link where the free online publications can be found: Statistical publications in electronic format

  • any distorsion from the original meaning of data is not allowed

Any request for re-use of information will be addressed to NSI Romania, Data Dissemination Department (email: datestat@insse.ro)  in the conditions described in the Law no.109/2007.

The NSI Romania reserves the right to make the appropriate updates of the data without prior notification, for the purpose of updating, correcting the content included on the website or its structure.

NSI Romania declines any responsibility from any wrong re-use of information and is not answering to the claims of third parties users which have used these indirect sources on their own risk.
